What does Google consent mode do?

Consent Mode is a feature developed by Google, that enables a website to measure visitor’s metrics while respecting their privacy preferences. It provides the flexibility to modify your Google tags’ behaviour according to your users’ consent preferences. Consent Mode interacts with a site’s Consent Management Platform (CMP) and uses the data collected to fire tags based on the visitor’s consent status. (Check Google’s official documentation)

Consent Mode applies to the following Google products: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Floodlight tags and Conversion Linker. You can use Google-certified CMP such as CookieYes for a seamless integration with Google Consent Mode.
