Will performing a new scan discard the manual changes made to the cookie list?

No, performing a new scan does not discard manual changes like adding new cookies or recategorizing existing ones. Here’s what happens:

1. Manually added cookies: Manually adding cookies preserves them in the list with their categories unless newly detected cookies replace them during a rescan.

2. Recategorized cookies: If you’ve changed the categories you’ve assigned to certain cookies before a new scan, they won’t automatically revert or recategorize.

CookieYes maintains the manual changes you make to the cookie list, including adding new cookies or recategorizing existing ones. The automatic scans will only add newly detected cookies or update information for existing cookies found during the scan without overwriting your manual customizations.

However, if the same cookie is detected during the new scan, it may update the manually added duration and domain of the cookie entry. In such cases, you can review the new cookie information and make any necessary adjustments if required.
