Two-factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security used to protect online accounts and services beyond just a username and password. This extra layer of protection significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, even if one factor is compromised. By implementing 2FA, CookieYes ensures that only authorized users can access the accounts, safeguarding against potential breaches or identity theft. 

To enable Two-factor authentication (2FA), follow the below steps:

Step 1:From the CookieYes Dashboard, navigate to the Profile icon in the top-right corner and click My Account from the drop-down.

Step 2:Under Security, click the Set up 2FA button.

Step 3:Scan the QR code or enter the setup key on your authenticator app.

Step 4:The authentication app will begin generating time-based codes for CookieYes. Enter the current six-digit verification code generated by your authenticator app, then click the Verify Code button. Step 5:Copy and securely store your 2FA recovery code, then tick the checkbox and click the Okay button.

To regenerate the 2FA recovery code, follow the below code:

Step 1:From the CookieYes Dashboard, navigate to the Profile icon in the top-right corner and click My Account from the drop-down.

Step 2:Under Security, click the Re-generate recovery codes button.

Step 3:In the modal, enter your CookieYes password and click the Re-generate recovery codes button.

To disable 2FA for your account, follow the below steps:

Step 1:From the CookieYes Dashboard, navigate to the Profile icon in the top-right corner and click My Account from the drop-down.

Step 2:Under Security, click the Disable 2FA button.

Step 3:In the modal, enter your CookieYes password, then click the Disable 2FA button.
