What are pageviews?

A pageview is every instance when someone views a page on a website. Each time a webpage is loaded or reloaded on your website, it is counted as a pageview.

How are pageviews calculated?

A CookieYes pageview is registered every instance when a webpage containing the CookieYes code is loaded during a browsing session. Known bot traffic will be excluded from the count of pageviews.

How many pageviews are available for each domain in different plans?

  • Free: 15,000 pageviews /month
  • Basic: 100,000 pageviews /month
  • Pro: 300,000 pageviews /month
  • Ultimate: Unlimited

When do pageviews reset?

Pageviews reset monthly, starting from the date the website was registered with CookieYes. Your CookieYes plan and the associated billing amount will remain unchanged.

What happens after pageviews are exhausted, and how is the customer informed?

When you reach your monthly pageview limit, you will be notified on the Dashboard. You will also get email notifications about the approaching plan limit. You can check your pageview usage at all times on your CookieYes Dashboard.

Once the 100% limit is reached, the banner will be automatically disabled. After upgrading the plan, it will be reactivated.

Is there an automatic upgrade to a higher plan if pageviews are exceeded?

No, there is no automatic upgrade.

What should users do if their pageviews are exhausted?

Users need to upgrade to a higher plan manually.

How are pro-rated pageviews calculated?

Pro-rated pageviews are calculated based on the new plan’s pageview limit and the number of days remaining in the new billing cycle.

New pageview limit = (Total limit of the new plan / Total days in the current billing cycle) × (Total days in the current billing cycle − Days already used)

Are pageviews counted only on a user’s first visit?

No. A pageview is counted each time a page with a CookieYes banner (script) is loaded, including reloads. Therefore, multiple visits or reloads by the same user will result in multiple pageviews being counted.

A single user can generate multiple pageviews by navigating to various pages on your website during one session. Pageviews are counted for all users, regardless of their interaction with the cookie consent banner. Therefore, users who accept, reject, or ignore the banner will still contribute to the pageview count on your website.

Why is there a difference in pageviews count between Google Analytics (GA) and CookieYes (CY)?

Google Analytics data might exclude visitors who haven’t consented to cookies, resulting in lower counts. Since no cookie consent was obtained, no data is recorded for these users.
