Getting Started with CookieYes on HubSpot

This guide explains how to set up and use the CookieYes app for HubSpot from start to finish. It covers the full onboarding workflow, including installing the app from the HubSpot Marketplace, connecting your CookieYes account, configuring the cookie banner and verifying that consent tracking is active on your website.

Installing the CookieYes app from the HubSpot Marketplace connects your HubSpot account with CookieYes and enables banner configuration. However, HubSpot Marketplace apps do not automatically inject third-party scripts into website templates.

To display the cookie banner on your HubSpot site, you must manually add the CookieYes script to your site header. The setup therefore, consists of two required parts:

1. Account connection (via Marketplace installation)
2. Website activation (manual script insertion in HubSpot header HTML)

Both steps are necessary to fully activate consent tracking.

Before you begin setting up the CookieYes app on HubSpot, make sure the following requirements are met. This helps ensure a smooth installation and banner setting process.

• HubSpot account with required permissions: You must have permission to install Marketplace apps and update website settings.
• Active HubSpot website or landing page: A published site or page is required to display and test the CookieYes consent banner.
• CookieYes account (can be created during setup): You can connect an existing account or create a new CookieYes account during the app installation process. An account is not required in advance.
• Domain access: Access to your website domain configuration may be required to complete script installation and verification.

After confirming these prerequisites, proceed to install the CookieYes app from the HubSpot Marketplace.

Follow these steps to install the CookieYes app and start the setup flow from your HubSpot account.

1. Log in to your HubSpot account.
2. In the top navigation bar, click the Marketplace icon.
3. Select HubSpot Marketplace from the dropdown menu.

1. In the Marketplace search field, enter CookieYes – Cookie Consent Banner.
   
   
2. Select CookieYes – Cookie Consent Banner from the search results to open the app listing page.
3. Click Install.
   
   

1. In the Connect CookieYes modal, click Sign in. You are redirected to the CookieYes connection page.
   
   
2. Do one of the following:
   • If you already have a CookieYes account: Your account is detected automatically. Review the logged-in account, then click Connect HubSpot site to CookieYes. To use a different account, click Use another account to connect.
     
     
   • If you don’t have a CookieYes account: Enter your Email address and Password, select the I agree to the Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy checkbox, then click Sign up & connect site to CookieYes.
     
     

On the Connecting CookieYes to HubSpot page:

1. Review the permissions the app is requesting access to.
2. Select the checkbox to confirm that you agree to the app’s terms and privacy policy.
3. Click Connect app.
   
   

The CookieYes installed successfully confirmation screen appears, indicating that the integration has been completed.

After the app is installed, connect your website from the CookieYes app settings in HubSpot.

1. In your HubSpot account, click the Marketplace icon in the top navigation bar.
2. Select Connected Apps from the dropdown menu.
   
   
3. Under My Apps, locate and click CookieYes from the list of connected apps.
   
   
4. On the CookieYes app page, click the Settings tab.
5. Under Manage Websites, locate your website from the list and click Connect.
   
   

1. Review the plans details and choose one based on your site requirements.
2. Click the required option:
   • Continue with Free, or
   • Try Basic / Pro / Ultimate for Free.

3. For paid plans:
Click Add payment details to continue.

4. Enter your billing and payment information.

5. Click Start trial to activate the plan.

On the Configure your cookie banner settings screen:

1. Select the banner language.
2. Choose a layout (Box, Banner, or Popup).
3. Select a colour theme.
4. Click Next step.

On the Install cookie banner on your HubSpot site screen, select Install on HubSpot as the installation method.

1. Under Add the code to your HubSpot site, locate the banner script.
2. Click Copy code to copy the installation snippet.

After connecting accounts and configuring the banner, you must add the CookieYes script to your HubSpot site.

1. Headback to your HubSpot account and click the Settings icon in the top navigation bar.
   
   
2. In the left sidebar menu, scroll down to Tools and click Content > Pages.
   
   

In the Pages section, open the Choose a domain to edit its settings dropdown. Select a domain for which you want to integrate CookieYes. [If you want to apply the same code to all HubSpot-hosted content, choose Default settings for all domains.]

1. Navigate to the Templates tab.
2. Locate the Site header HTML field.
3. Paste the CookieYes script into this field.

Click Save to apply the changes.

Return to the CookieYes setup screen and click Verify.

After successful verification, a confirmation message appears indicating that CookieYes is installed on your site.

You have now completed the setup of the CookieYes app for HubSpot, including account connection, banner configuration, script installation and verification. Once verification is successful, the consent banner is active on your selected HubSpot domain and consent tracking starts based on your configured settings.

You will receive a verification email shortly and your first website scan will be initiated automatically. The scan results list all cookies detected on your site and help you review and categorise them for accurate consent management.
