# How often should I update my cookie policy?
You should review and update your [cookie policy](https://www.cookieyes.com/blog/cookie-policy-checklist/) every 6 months, or at least once a year, to keep it aligned with current laws and website practices.

You should also update it in the following circumstances:

- With new privacy laws or amendments to existing ones.

- You add or modify tools, plugins, or scripts using cookies.

- You integrate new third-party services (e.g., analytics or ads).

- You change consent mechanisms or banner settings.

- Cookie functions, duration, or categories change.

- Your internal policies, branding, or domain change.

- Audits or user feedback reveal outdated information.
