# What is IAB TCF v2.2?

The [IAB TCF v2.2](https://iabeurope.eu/transparency-consent-framework/) is the latest version of IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework. The latest version 2.2 address concerns raised by the [Belgian Data Protection Authority](https://www.dataprotectionauthority.be/citizen/iab-europe-held-responsible-for-a-mechanism-that-infringes-the-gdpr)and ensures more transparency and control for users.
**The key updates of TCF version 2.2 are:**
- Removal of the legitimate interest as a legal basis for advertising and content personalization.
- Transparency in information provided to users including user-friendly description of purposes and features replacing legal text.
- Additional information on vendors such as categories of data collected, retention periods, and the legitimate interest used.
- Disclose of the total number of vendors seeking on the first layer of CMP (consent management platform).
- UI requirements to facilitate users to call back the cookie banner and easily withdraw consent.
All CMPs and vendors are required to be compliant with the requirement of TCF v2.2 by **September 30, 2023**. CookieYes CMP is an [IAB-approved CMP](https://iabeurope.eu/cmp-list/) and is compliant with TCF v2.2.
